The San Raphael was a typical army caravel with two masts with square sails and mast lateen.There was a slight hull shallow draft made sure to support the very high seas opposite the caravels of this heavy time and little.
In 1434, the San Raphael sailed with the expedition of the Portuguese navigator, Alfonso Goncalves along the African coast.
